cheap real estate
open carry
can shoot just about any where
dirty dusty old town. All the Canadians hang out there in the winter.
USMC Air Station
cant do shit in the summer, to freakin HOT.

I was stationed there from 2002-2006. Didn't used to be much there outside of a handful of gas stations, and was a haven for snowbirds. But the housing boom in the early 2000's the place exploded. By the time we left there wasn't much we couldn't find locally.

As previously mentioned, it's hot as hell there, like you don't do anything outside 8 months out of the year kind of hot. As I remember the area mostly supports the MCAS Yuma and the Army's Yuma Proving Grounds. Lots of produce, including cotton, which blew me away.

We couldn't wait to move, wasn't the kind of place we preferred.

you poor soul. At least I only did one year at 29 stumps.... 4 years in Yuma,,,I couldn't do it. Hell, its hard enough just getting the motivation to visit.

Ha! Two one year stints in the stumps for me. Thank god only for school, had I been stationed there long term I would have killed someone.

Stumps wasn't to bad for me due to being close to home (Big Bear), so I could escape on the weekends!
