Squad Cycles - New TT's?
I just saw some ads running in Tri Canada magazine. Of course in US funds it's a pretty good deal.

Might be picking up where Guru left off, in that customization is part of their offering.

Anyone see or ride them?

yes repainted hong-fu/Avenger bikes...

They must be huffing a lot of carbon dust over there in Taiwan (or China). My goodness.

And huffing the paint in QC.

But not a bad plan. Heck you want your bike to match xyz and comes with lifetime warranty, plus North American support.

I like the fact that I got custom colors on my bike, black with cobalt blue. I get asked about it every event I use it.

For custom you'd have to go Dimond or other boutique brands $$$$

HOLY CRAP, I just saw the prices on these things. The funny thing is that if you want a custom painted frame, Hong Fu will do it for a couple hundred dollars. So for the TT frame you are probably into it for around $1500 shipped to your door.

They are always set up at the Tremblant events. The bikes are very nice looking and they do some cool custom paint. Basically paying a premium for them to get you the frame, paint it, warranty it, etc.
If you can get past the fact that they are dengfu, they are nice bikes.

I'm pretty sure its the same frame Px (http://www.planetx.co.uk/...triathlon-bikes/exo3). If it is the same then the frame looks a lot better in pictures/from afar than it does up close. The devil is in the details and the finer points of the bike, like how the bolt heads holding the brake fairings on stick noticeably out, are all a bit sloppy. The overall quality is nothing to complain about when you are buying the complete bike with Ultegra for sub $2.5k or Etap for $4.5K but at the prices Squad are charging I would expect a lot more.

It's definitely a different frame than the Px exo3.

So I met the owner at the MT expo yesterday. The bikes look really nice. When chatting with him, I asked how access was to spare parts, like if I broke a handlebar? He said maybe 3 days. So I said "Oh, you stock a lot of them"? He said no, he makes them! Umm...

So I then said, "Oh, I thought these were Asia / Dengfu frames". He said no, he makes them, and then turned one upside down where it had a proudly made in canada 'sticker'................

I'm sorry, I have nothing against a dengfu/hongfu frameset at all, but I have an issue with being blatantly lied to by the owner of the company.

If I'm wrong, and this company has a factory in Quebec where they happen to be manufacturing carbon frames, that happen to be an exact replica of the Avenger frame out of Asia, then I apologize.

Totally different bikes. You can't just slap a made in Canada sticker on anything...
or..
I just hear Hongfu moved their carbon manufacturing to Quebec!

No question that Squad is rebranding the TM6 Avenger. ...In fact, all of their frames are rebranded Hongfu frames.

Compare all the available Squad frames from what's listed at Hongfu.
