I expected the movie to be heart wrenching, but was very disappointed. I thought that the old people being the characters was extremely predictable. What's supposed to be the saddest part of the movie? I really just don't get it.

No real man watches The Notebook, however, I did think James Garner did a nice acting job. ;)

If I stumble across it while flipping through channels I try to calmly skip past it hoping she doesn't notice, which works approximately 2% of the time.

To be fair, I'm the same way with The Shawshank Redemption. Can't pass that movie.

The fact that you watched it is what is sad.
I frequently thank the gods that my wife hates movies like that.
I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

Did you at least act like you were sad?
