Almond Butter - I tried
I've tried three times now for health reasons but I can't like this stuff. It is bland, oily and smeary and it oozes. It separates. Nothing can replace the perfectness of Skippy Creamy. Perfect hint of salt, a little shortening in it to keep the texture perfect. I know it's not that good for me but F it. Life is short, then you die, I'm eating the kind of peanut butter I like.

Dad's oatmeal cookies AND Skippy peanut butter gone, that's 2 of my 5 main food groups.

Thanks Trump

Find a store with a bulk food section that has an almond butter grinder set up. It's cheaper, has a better consistency, and in my opinion tastes better.

I like the JIF natural more than the regular- more of a taste of salt and I like the grainy texture...

LT83- give cashew butter a try. It's good stuff. Refrigerate after stirring to prevent separation.

Taste and texture varies widely from brand to brand, so I'd suggest experimenting with different brands. I find Justin's almond butter to be the most palatable of them all. (Or maybe it's just the least unpalatable of them all.)

Trader Joe's is pretty solid, but their cashew butter is better.

Someone mentioned Jif Natural. I still can't believe they call that shit natural -- palm oil, sugar, some other crap. Don't get me wrong, it actually tastes pretty great, but natural it ain't.

Fillers and sweeteners in peanut butter destroy one of natures treats. Laura Scudder's is the best!

Whoops, wrong brand. Smucker's Natural. I've been eating it for 10 years. Ingredients are: peanuts, 1% or less of salt.

Any of the stuff with palm oil and sugar is shit.
