Moving to Denver, CO... give me a tri.

So its official, I will be moving to Denver/Golden area in the beginning of the summer. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a short distance triathlon to race at the end of August or September around Denver or a few hours drive from it.

Also, are there any good cycling clubs I should check out? I will living out by Golden.

I hear the Boulder Sunset Triathlon is fun. It is Aug.26 I am doing the Sunrise on June 25th.

Boulder Sunset is fun, but with such a late start, it can make for a hot day. Tri the Boat in Steamboat is in August I believe.

Wrong one. My bad. I meant Steamboat Triathlon. Its put on through withoutlimits production. I believe its August 13th.

There's an Xterra in August as well in Aspen Valley. Most tri's I've seen in the Denver/Golden area are all at the Boulder rez so it can get a little boring after a while.

It's not in the time frame you specified, but the Evergreen Sprint Triathlon is just up the hill from Golden:
