For termites.

Should we remove all our dishes form the house?

What about ammo?

Any other tips besides the obvious?

And how long will the gas take to kill the cats? Do they suffer?

you should be good covering your stuff in plastic and wiping down all handles and knobs before eating. If you walk around without shoes, clean the floors well.
