Does anyone travel for training camps?
I know there are plenty of places to choose from; arizona, boulder and others in the US and Lanzarote as an example in europe

What do you look for?

Great rides, easy access to trail running and access to a pool. Beyond that what?

I second that. Also warm weather and open roads!

Funny, I've been thinking about this lately. I'm thinking Bend, OR would be a great place that I could drive to. Warm, good roads, pool, plenty of trails for run/mtb. Good stuff.

Any run that doesn't include pooping in someone's front yard is a win.

I have done camps in France (4 times), Mallorca, Boulder, Texas and Vegas and all have a similar theme (lots great riding with climbing and empty roads). All have had both OW and 50m swimming pools and good running trails. France is by far the best for all of the above, with Nice and Annecy and the area near Grenoble all great.

Where did you stay near nice?

I think its the best place for riding, food, being outdoors but wondered what the demand was.

We stayed in an apartment hotel near the airport. It was not the best choice, as it was a bit far (we took taxis often) for meals and coffees, but my mates made the lodging arrangements.

A group from my masters club has been going to Mexico for the last couple of years.

I think the key thing they were looking for was the swim-up bar...
