What is it with people pushing shopping carts?

It's very common way for people with COPD to do it. Helps them to breath, my grandfather use to do it. OTOH, there aren't that many people out there with COPD so probably most of the people have some other reason for doing it.

Because standing, walking, and pushing a cart are too physically taxing for many people these days. It is much preferred to let the cart support some of their weight whilst they waddle down the center of the isle with their snot nosed kids spread wide on both sides of the cart.

I detest people who lean on their cart.

What drives me nuts is the people who are pushing their carts down the main aisles at Costco and just leave them right in the middle when they need to get something down one of the sides.
