I would suggest reading the actual study instead of simply taking an NBC report. The findings are interesting, but not really as rock solid as the reporter wants you to think. Especially considering the study only went through 2014.


In Colorado abuse of opiods, and overdose rates, including death from opiods has increased pretty dramatically since legalization, across the board in every county in the state.

Can't access the article but read the abstract, and I think the original article said the findings were consistent with several other studies. I'll assume you read the article and have some thoughts on why the findings might not be so rock solid?

All you've shown is that legalized marijuana doesn't prevent an increase in opioid related deaths that doesn't mean it's not reducing the number of deaths.
