There's a microbrewery in our area that every once in a while will brew up a batch of mead. It's fermented with honey and is the original beverage of our ancestors, dated to at least about 7000 years ago. Tastes quite good surprisingly.

My wife loves mead. It is pretty pricey for a good bottle of it.

I'm a homebrewer but I never tried making mead. My older brother used to brew sparkling mead. Man that stuff packed a wallop. Only took a few glasses before you were wasted.

Even dry mead tastes cloyingly sweet to me.
