With Sonos the streaming accounts are (roughly speaking) linked to the hardware. Even if you don't have Spotify and you get on the WiFi network of someone with Sonos setup with Spotify you'll be able to play music from Spotify. If you want to access your playlists, I believe you can open the Spotify app on your phone and cast to the Sonos (might be an Android thing, but I think it works on iOS devices as well).
