Which Cordless Inflator for Travel Pump Hack?
Hello,

I'm in the market for a travel pump and stumbled across the following hack of the Craftsman Cordless Inflator.

http://www.thetallcyclist.com/...n-cordless-inflator/

Brilliant!

Edit: Decided to give it a go, and found the inflator universally out of stock due to Sears impending demise.

Anyone have input on an alternative to the Craftsman pump for this project?

Scott

Scott,

How about the Ryobi. It seems to get good reviews/

I see it is only rated to 100psi so perhaps not so useful for everyone,

I had the craftsman and its terrible. Big, heavy, LOUD and really slow to inflate tires. Just bring a floor pump.

I disagree with the other posters. For CX and Mtb it is terrific. Watch a world cup cx race and see how many are in use in the pits.
My teammate has the Craftsman that looks like a drill. I have the Ryobi that looks like a traditional inflator. Slight preference for his.
Either way getting the correct presta inflator head is a must.

Hello Great Scott,

Available here: http://www.sears.com/...HAQ&gclsrc=aw.ds

Works great for road bike tires ... has a built in pressure gauge visible on the back of the pump.

Need to add a presta inflation chuck .....

I use the KCNC chuck and it works fairly well ....

Ditto previous post, Craftsman is available, just not stocked at most locations. They don't sell a whole lot of these. Order online, have it delivered or shipped to local store.

They're pretty great, have had a couple of them over the years, as well as a couple of other alternative options. Current Craftsman is the best I've ever used, gauge is actually dead nuts on with the expensive benchmark gauge I cobbled together.
