pools in Scottsdale/Pheonix/Tempe

Going to be out in Scottsdale next week and would really like to get some swims in outside (can't wait for some sunshine, still in the 20s here in Connecticut at night). Any recommendations on public outdoor pools (ASU, others?) with drop-in fees? Thanks, Adam

The Phoenix Swim Club has 3 masters practices a day and a terrific facility. They are fine with drop in visits as well if you sign in. Just north of Phoenix and a bit west of Scottsdale. Let me know if you decide to come.

I can vouch for PSC and SAC. I grew up at the SAC pool and the OLD PSC pool that's now a parking lot :( Lot's of memories, hope to be back one day.

Cactus club if you want long course swimming.

Mcdowell mountain aquatic center is really nice as well.

+1 on McDowell, it's a great outdoor pool. I was there on a biz trip a couple of months ago and loved it. Lots of lanes and good swim times. My only complaint was that their pool toy selection was a bit limited. Some pull buoys but that was it (unless you want to do kick drills with a single size 13 diving fin). Not a deal breaker, but just come prepared if you have some specific swim work to do.

Did a number of camps at the old PSC location back when Gary Sr was swimming with PSC masters. Always a great chat.
