10 hours post op, I'm already climbing the walls
Quote | Reply
Had a C7 foramenotomy today. The doc had to open me up with about a 7-8 cm incision to the posterior neck, part of the disc had ossified (turned to bone), and he needed the space to get that and the bone spurs out...

Anesthesia worn off, only taking ibuprofen. Neck pretty stiff (all the pinched nerve pain/numbness is gone though!) Re-watched Big Trouble in Little China. Now I want to do stuff... but shouldn't- this may make me insane!!!

Glad your surgery went well. You'll have some bad days ahead once the post-surgery euphoria wears off and you have to heal up (especially the surgical stuff), but keep up the great attitude and good luck!

Just more ground to cover when I get back in condition. I'm 40, have to behave. I'm drinking a ton of milk and hitting the meat.

I'll start my taxes this weekend and do some work for the Reserve unit I'm in, but don't go back to my regular job until March 6...

Hitting the meat???? That is way too much information.

Buy an Xbox and go nuts. Had surgery 6 months ago. Drove 2,500 miles in forza and played a lot of call of duty, and it is a pretty nice machine to have around.

Pactimo brand ambassador, ask me about promo codes

This is really a backdoor brag about how tough he is. My ortho only prescribed industrial IB after a wrist surgery. I nearly kicked him in the face when I saw him to BEG for better meds. Used percoset for a couple days post pinky surgery to make it more tolerable/ sleep through the worst of it. Cant imagine neck surgery like that on only IB. Maybe the nerve block hasn't worn off yet?

The other post-op surgery.

Maybe I've spent too much time in Bangkok...

I moved south last summer!

Medical provider and military, no weed for me.

Hell, I need to mow my grass once I heal!

No nerve block. Was out of the OR 14 hours ago, so anesthesia is washed out. My neck feels like a really bad strain, it does suck to lie fully down. Best guess is that the pinched nerve was shittybenough that it's absence feels really good. My arm feels great, trap isn't spasmed for the first time in 6 months.

Mind you, other than bone spurs nibbled out, I didn't have any bony work done. No hardware.

Wise choice to head south. I'm from VA and would move back there or NC in a hurry if i had a plan B. Heal quick and don't sweat the lawn - plenty of time to do that after you're good to go.

I was hit by a car while riding my bike in 2014 and spent 3 months on Oxycodone, taking 2 pills every 4 hours for almost 3 months. Wise choice to stay off if you can.

That said, I kind of miss it...
