Volta a Catalunya advice needed...
Just discovered my time Barcelona next month coincides with the race finale. On March 26th, the tour's 7th stage begins & ends in the city. I see the finish is again a circuit that circles 8x around Montjuic park, including climbing the cat 3 Alt Montjuic.

Has anyone here experienced this? I've honestly never caught a stage race before. So any recommendations are welcome. Would it be wise/possible to catch the start & finish? I know the actual finish line area is all VIP tickets, but where's a good place in the park for watching? Any other ideas to capitalize on this opportunity are welcome

Cheers
CC

based on a hazy recollection of last year's race, the climb is where all the attacks go, so that is where you want to be. Far enough away from the line that it should be free to watch. Make sure you know how you are going to get there....roads will close about an hour before the riders approach, and some may close earlier than that.

Easily done. You will have plenty of time. Best bet is to take the subway from wherever you are to Plaça Espanya. Then walk straight to the uphill section. Enjoy your stay!
