I don't get the "beans and rice" thing. What am i missing?

You probably haven't, done right it's amazing. It's salty spicy meaty smokey comfort food.

This sounds way better than "rice and beans".

Did I say rice and beans? No. I said red beans and rice (NOLA style).

Have you travelled much? Rice and beans is not something Canada does well.

I just wish beans werent so hard on my guts.

Our menu tonight...

BBQ spare ribs off the pressure cooker, finished on the BBQ. Boston brown beans w/alder smoked bacon... oh and a salad to reduce the guilt phase. ;)

Pan fried chicken breasts with special spice mix....
Jasmin rice from the cooker.
Sauteed green beans (savory, dill, salt pepper).
Some korean BBQ sauce for dipping.

Rode 4 hrs today and we didn't feel like standing around in the kitchen for hours.

Almost forgot:
A glass of Italian Chianti or two.
