So how does this work. Wife is out of work but on severance pay. Does she count as unemployed? First time she is unemployed in last 35 years.

No one can put in the jobs report, it will be adjusted later.

NFP is less useful as the economy has changed. The household survey is better, but still all the numbers are made up and massaged by the nerds.
