I've had a wicked sore throat and cough the past couple days and one sip of Bulliet and suddenly it's all better. Suppose I should add some hot water, lemon, and honey for it to be socially acceptable... or I can let the straight whiskey burn the virus from my throat and lungs.

Chinese medicine is a thing, so why not redneck medicine.

I think it's common knowledge but uncommonly used, not like I can give my toddler a teaspoon of the stuff.

That's my go to for any kind of cold or sore throat. I don't take cold medicine of any kind. Based on how fast I go through the stuff, I must be sick a lot of the time.
