Q for the LR carpenters: creaky chair

What is causing my one year old piano stool to creak and groan like arthritic joints? Is it just tightening screws (which I did not that long ago) or are their more advanced techniques to explore?

I'd rather listen to my stellar playing than my loud chair. It wasn't always like this but after a few months it became noticeable and is now quite pronounced

Depending on what joint is leaking and if you ever plan on disassembly of that joint, look into something like this

https://briwax.com/...ct/chairx-by-briwax/

I know woodcraft carries it, unsure of the big box stores. Is a furniture glue with a syringe injector to really get into the joint.

Are you sure it's not the handlebars?

Have you tried lubing it?

Lotta' moving parts on that thing. A few drops of chain lube might do the trick.

It did look a little high.

Post a pic with you sitting on it. Could be a fit issue.

Have you done any wind tunnel tests?

What would you like me to wear in the pic?

I do fart on it a lot, so yes.

Same thing I wore in my fit pic.

Bra, speedo, leg warmers and a Mexican wrestling mask.

Tighten the four corner nuts holding the legs. Drop of oil at each hinge point. Grease the threaded rod. Check if you need to shim a leg.

When that fails buy a solid bench.

Any unidentified creak is always the bottom bracket. If it's not that, then buy a new bike. If in doubt, always buy a new bike.

Doesn't look carbon. Sell it in the classifieds and upgrade to a real bench.
