Will Donald Trump be FDR or Jimmy Carter
I Like this article, I think this article might be a better indication on what to expect from trump. He appears to me to be someone that lives on the extremes, so an article showing that he might be extremely effective or extremely blah appeals to me.

Even though I would never be categorized as a trump supporter, I am not as quick to dismiss him as a carter.

Neither. He will be a Trump, just like Obama was neither a Carter or FDR but an Obama. Now what being a Trump means for the country is the big unknown. I can see some upsides but also downsides. One upside could be that not being a true conservative/Republican and not beholden to the party, it could force Congress to work together more effectively. A clear downside, and what we see even before he's been sworn in, is his love of Putin/displeasure with the intelligence community. That could lead to some bad, bad things.

Bigger question: will he be a Zachary Taylor or Neville Chamberlain?

He'll just continue on being Trump. In four years we'll know if he was a good president or a complete embarrassment.

until we know how and if Trump separates his business interests from the Oval Office we won't know - I think he will be a Putin

I cannot tell quite yet whether he is playing chess while a good many are playing checkers; or he has lost his marbles. Today's meeting with intel community will shed a little more light.

Those aren't mutually exclusive. Even given good policy outcomes it's hard to believe at his age he's going to suddenly grow up and stop being an embarrassment.

"Even given good policy outcomes "

Are you actually expecting that?

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.

Honestly I think most policy is ideologically driven (in Trump's case more populism than ideology) with unknown outcomes. Some of his policies might work out, who knows. I'm keeping an open mind about it.

He's already a flippin embarrassment. In four years we'll be able to read he was an awesome president, and a total shit show of a president, depending on who writes the history. In fact, the more I think about it, he'll probably be regarded as a shit show because he is such a polorizing person, he'll get nothing done and be hounded endlessly about things like a throw away comment like "I'll make Mexico pay for the wall" instead of actually getting something done about immigration, as an example. The circle jerk continues.

It won't take four years to figure this out. My money is on the latter, not the former.

I see Nixon in our futures but a kinder gentler version. Unless you are here illegally, gay or a minority. Then you get the full blown paranoid Nixon.
