I have an old, old, old laptop which was converted to "chromebook" for simple internet/online access. This worked fine for a while, but now the computer will not recognize/connect to my home network. Even with wifi on (obviously), it will not recognize any networks (when I know the home wifi is fine, since I'm on it with other devices. Is it a bad internal network card? if so, is it time to recycle? Did I mention this thing is ancient? Any help for a non-computer person is greatly appreciated.

Is there a ethernet port on the laptop you can try plugging a cable into your router to see if you get connectivity there?
Good question (and a good point)! I just tried it, and the laptop got stuck in "connecting" mode, and never actually connected. I even recalled that I needed to have the devices off so they could connect when turned back on.
