While we as a nation may have been stumbling in recent decades, this very very young nation, because of the legal structure and safeguards our founding fathers put in place, safeguards against majority mob rule have kept us one of the best places on the planet to live. That was after a bunch of idealists with guns said fuck you to one of the most powerful military powers of their time some 250 years ago.
