Canadians: one year of Trudeau

Its been one year since he was elected. Are we any better off? I work in a healthcare and didn't get a raise yet. And it is 2016. What gives?

You work in healthcare in Vancouver? In what respect? I have some friends in healthcare in Vancouver. Since we live in Canada, you probably know them.

Long Chile was a silly place.

The honeymoon hasn't ended for him yet, but there are still three more years until the next election. A lot can happen in three years. If Trudeau gets in again I hope its not a majority government.

I'm not personally impressed with the boy wonder as a legitimate leader. He's only there because who his father was, but I voted for him because Harper was well past his time to leave, and I liked him even less. I hate to think I would probably vote for Junior again but probably might as there will probably be no other viable choices. The only way the Cons can win is elect a fresh new face leader with no Harper affiliation and purge themselves of the western reform dominance in their party. The NDP also needs a new leader, but they're always a long shot.

The ndp needs a whole new platform (and leader). God help us if they get in.

Long Chile was a silly place.

A lot of things have changed here in Vancouver.

Trudeau had his picture taken with a panda, a picture taken doing yoga poses, a picture taken with the Royals, a picture taken in the gay pride parade, a picture taken when he was in China, a picture taken with Obama, a picture taken all over the world.

Those are all good accomplishments.

Yay all is right in Canuckistan again! The liberal lap dog cbc has been restored to full funding so the propaganda machine is in full overdrive ensuring we are spoon fed the trudoh government sunny ways.
Sounds like some libs are already feeding at the trough just like the glory days.

I love how smug we canucks are towards our friends to the south as they struggle with trying to pick a president so soon after we proved how stupid we really are by giving trudoh a four year majority. Those twitchers that elected trudoh and are lobbing shots at our american friends about their election should just sit down and shut up.

ahh if you are in Healthcare then blame who is running your province, since they have the most control in healthcare spending.

plus, I am suprised with your statement, since I took a non union job at a hospital 6 years ago and I gotta say compared to my workplaces in the private industry I was pleasantly surprised that everybody seemed to get some kind of raise every year! It wasn't all called a raise but my salary has gone up every year automatically and not seemingly based on anything, just does.

lol, oh and I am not complaining.

edit...
If you are in a union, then blame your union contract

The NDP and the Greens simply need to go away and let the adults do the governing. Especially the greens.

I'm terrified of the BC election next spring, the options are pretty much worse than Trump and Clinton. Crusty Clark vs. a pandering socialist buffoon with no real knowledge about how economics work.

The Tory leader race seems to be Raitt's to loose... I guess she's not a bad option but meh. McKay would be preferable, but I'm thinking he's going to wait for the next cycle for more of boy wonder's charm to wear off. Thankfully Kenney is running for the leadership of the PC's in Alberta.

Now, let's just hope Doug Ford and Kevin O'Leary stay out of it and we don't get a clown show like the GOP primaries.

One of the things that bugs me about the Liberal media arm is that they take a billion bucks out of the economy and compete directly against productive entities in the same industry. So really that 1 billion price tag is far higher than it looks since it reduces the ability of CTV, Global and others to compete.

As far as Trudeau goes it's almost as though we all jumped into a Delorean.

Just finished watching CTV's Question Period - Oh my, how the mighty have fallen. Craig Oliver roasting Trudeau? Never thought I'd see that. The Tor Star guest calling him arrogant? Goodness gracious. The Globe & Mail is running an article on pay for play fund raisers (hello Hillary...) I'd say the Liberals are creating some headwinds for themselves and they need to figure out how to move forward.

What news sources do you use? And as I keep trying to tell my Harperite friends, you keep giving Trudeau to much credit, it was a vote against Harper it wouldn't have mattered who the Liberal leader was, no one was going to put the NDP in, Harper had to go, so it was the Liberals. I voted PC for years and despise what he did to my Party, Canada has always been a Progressive Country and Harpers American style tough on crime kill programs and build super jails made me sick. That's why I voted Liberal, I had no choice,

Your party? Oh boy, the biggest problem I see with Canada is the East (which is Ont & Que excludes the Maritimes) is always, always asking what the country can do for it rather than the other way around. The lions share of equalization payments per capita for the last 10 years have come from Western Canada and to no small degree Newfoundland. Calling the Conservative's "your" party is insulting. Right now as we speak there's 3 privately supported shovel ready projects that many would argue are vital to the unity of our nation are jammed in what amounts to bureaucratic malfeasance at the will of Ont & Que. In no small part also a result of the LPC willing derailing job creation because it fears would weaken it's Central Canada base. The majority of colonists aren't silly people, they see what's going on, it's only a matter of time before the water boils over in this simmering pot.

The Conservatives are not my Party the PC's were, the Conservatives are nothing more than Alberta reformist's and I hope they rot.

The PC's were rotten from the inside out as is the Liberal party. Your party, the party of Mulroney was no less corrupt than the Chretien era Liberals or the current Trudeau Liberals. Your distaste? Big jails? Talk about a first world problem.

Dude - go ask your wife. If she doesn't understand, I can't explain it to you. You have to live it, it's eye opening to transplanted Ontarian's.

What does that have to do with Ontarians looking for handouts from the rest of the country?
