There's more to baseball than having a championship ring. (Of course, a Cubs fan would have that perspective though). There's history and tradition. We have an actual likable team in a stadium that's worth going to.
A couple of years ago, the Cubs were playing the Jays in Toronto. We went up for the weekend. On Sat, sat in the seats right behind the dugout. On Sun, went out to the bleachers. Fans were seemingly luke warm on their team. I had some great conversations with the bleachers people. We chatted about traditions at the ballpark and the guys were frustrated that Toronto didn't have any (except, maybe, opening and closing the rooftop at random times).
