Bike shops usually negotiate prices.. I never pay MSRP..

Are the dimond prices negotiable? Also, how do you get the bike? Do you go to a shop to build or they ship it to you direct?

Kinda interested in the frameset but wow the price on the frame is ridiculous...

Bad name, like the "shiv." I assume they're talking about marquise as in a diamond cut, but upon hearing it I think of this:

Prices aren't negotiable. They ship the bike direct to you and it's up to you to build it or have it built. That stated, everything will be wired or cabled up so it's more a matter of reassembly.

Marquise? Check. Disabled placard? Check. Florida plates? Edited, but probably. Color? Hey it's supposed to be puke brown, tan, or burgundy, not white!

Dimond does work with some fitters like me. It's more of a partnership than a dealership. I don't stock any bikes. I can size somebody up for a bike, and if a Dimond fits them, they can contact Dimond, tell them I sent them, and Dimond will work with the customer and I to make it happen. Dimond is good about being flexible - they can build it to their stock spec, build it to my spec, or send it to me so I can build it to spec.

I have a Dimond Marquise since March this year. They have all sizes in production now.
New frame is big step forward!
Things that changed:
- storage is the most obvious: in the beam, in the downtube and near the bottom bracket
- new beam design has less lateral flex
- seat post clamping area holds post better
- new chainstay design - way sleeker and I don't rub the stays with my feet anymore (my heels tilt inward)

Did you race it with a round bottle on the down tube?

Sam, what is the purpose of the black electrical tape around the beam?

I just put it there to prevent people messing with the content in the beam storage (gels and access to a bladder) while the bike was in transition overnight. I removed the tape before the race ;-)
Still looking for a solution to prevent people messing with my electronic shifting...

It looks like it's holding the beam storage flap down

Yes, I always do - specially in races with not too many/poor aid stations like IMSA. One bottle on the frame, 1 bottle BTA and 1.2liter (hi-cal) in the downtube. It is a lot to carry but it is the only source of reliable nutrition.
I know there is a little aero penalty but the penalty of dehydration/bonking is much bigger ;-)

It is securely kept closed via a magnet and the flap doesn't need holding down while riding at all but it has no lock to keep it secured while parked in transition. Same goes for the cover near the bottom bracket.
