I'm looking for non M-Dot 70.3 races in Texas for next year. I've seen Tri Forth Worth and have done Kerrville and Oilman a few times a piece. The latter two are excellent races, by the way. I'm curious if anyone has heard of anything else, perhaps in the hillier western part of the state? Thanks!

There was a lot of planning and they were going to do one at Mammoth Lake down near Lake Jackson but permits didn't get approved. I would bet the people who were looking to put it on (Bayou City Tri Series) will try to put a half distance somewhere else soon.

Doubtful that the Tri-Tyler is coming back but that was a good course a few years back: https://www.facebook.com/tritylerhalf/

No Texas but close - I love Redman up in OKC. Excellent 70.3 race & course.

September race at Lake Livingston.

I know it's HIM branded, but BSLT still has the old-school independent feel to it. Much different vibe than Austin or Galveston HIMs. It's a bit on the hilly side and in the western part of the state.

You should check out Ryanman (http://www.ryanman.com). Amazing race, great cause, fast and smooth bike course, top notch race swag, wonderful volunteers. It's in early October every year.

Another close one but not TX is River Roux Triathlon in south Louisiana (near Baton Rouge in a town called New Roads). The bike course takes you over Audubon Mississippi River Bridge into West Feliciana Parish (hillier than you expect in Louisiana). Fun little town, early to mid November each year (November 12th this year).

I'm looking at Onalaska this year.
What did you like about it?

Parents are Mississippi locals and do this race. The swag is crazy!
