Yep. Some people don't have issues with child sex offenders, some do.

We live in a society that is fine with peoples previous crimes. Have you seen any one of a hundred Gangster movies Goodfellas, Black Mass. Even something like (the excellent) Narcos about Escobar who was responsible for the deaths of thousands! These guys ended peoples lives in the pursuit of ill gotten money.

If we stay on sex crimes. R Kelly, Chris Brown, Charlie Sheen, Sean Penn etc etc

Murder and Rape are serious crimes. And I hope that no one on this forum has or will be involved in those things. But if someone is genuinely remorseful, puts that in their past. And NEVER repeats the same mistakes. I'm not going to hold it against them from earning a living and becoming a functioning member of society.

Or do we have a scale where petty theft is ok, and you can come back from that? Where does Assault fit? Maiming? Drug dealing?

(On a tangeant, funny how Hollywood is fine with millions of on screen murders a year, but even in a romcom we never see actual sex, as that's Porn and seemingly just awful! Our society is strange that Love is frowned upon LoL )

not him, dude: us. i'm disappointed that our sport hasn't decided, "you know, maybe i won't sponsor that guy, or interview him, or whatever." it's not about persecuting him, it's about our ability to decide that he's not welcome in our house any more. i think that's a black mark on our sport.

The irony, is that there are hundreds if not thousands of people in the world who lived in a less that stellar fashion. And have used Sport to facilitate their rehabilitation into the world.

What message does it send if we won't allow a coach, the same opportunity to rehabilitate himself?

Anyway, I suspect we'll never agree on this.

I have spoken with girls he coached, and some of his behaviour post his conviction was concerning at best...and certainly not indicative of a man who is trying to be rehabilitated.
