Sounds like the Norwegians are conducting super secret reindeer experiments that they don't want anyone to know about. So far, more than 300 have failed to fly when dropped from airplanes.

One of the funniest, if not the funniest, moments on television. I show this to the young guys at work each Thanksgiving and I laugh my ass off every time.

I am barely old enough to remember it. My Dad used to watch the reruns.

I, too, laugh every time. Similar to the Tim Conway dentist scene from Carol Burnett. Can't watch this without laughing.

This is absolutely awesome; however the young guys, without knowing the complete ineptitude which was Les Nessman, won't fully appreciate it.

True, I've tried to explain but they just need to watch the series. At least the first 2 years, I thought it only had 2 or 3 really good years.

I'm pretty sure you can blame Thor. He was probably upset about being left out of the last Captain America movie

How do they know it was lightning?

I would guess a centrally located scorched area and a bunch of dead reindeer with burns consistent with a lightening strike?

Either that, or one that could talk survived long enough, to tell about the ordeal.

LMAO! I was just walking along chewing my cud and admiring the butt on the doe in front of me when WHAM!!!! Lightning came down and knocked us all on our asses. I tried to get up and help, but all I could smell was barbecue venison.

A lightening strike, from everything I've ever seen, is very localized. A strike area big enough to kill that many reindeer in one hit? I call BS.

Google herd of rain deer and look at images. And in bad weather they huddle even closer.

Except that once lightning has struck it does go straight down into the ground, it travels at its surface.
