I never heard of it either, but there was a pamphlet in my Alpe d'Huez race package. They are marketing to the right people.

Looks like there are more than a few of these crazy races:

Too bad my wife is afraid to drive in the Alps (or much of Europe!). I'd have to try and find/pay a support crew for any of these races.

Will probably just go back to Ad'H cuz it was easy logistics and not ridiculously hard.. (just really hard).

That looks awesome. As in fun, but not stupid. Brixia on the other hand... that's stupid.

It looks crazy but other than the Stelvio it's not as crazy as some of the others. But long, over 200k.

If they go through the tunnel just before the Fuornpass (like half of the Engadin Radmarathon parcours) then it wouldn't be a half bad 70.3 bike! Still about 1800m/6000ft of climbing but beautiful! And plenty of opportunity to go aero with false flats

As much as I like the idea I don't think this will be long lived. Conditions are too tough up there (we have a weekend home close to St Moritz). One or two years with tough water/weather/thunderstorms (it can easily snow there on short notice in Aug, cancelling bike swim and support cars over the Stelvio) will bring the event down (sadly).

We've seen this with previous trailrunning events that didnt last many years.

Cheers
