A question on Prologo TGALE PAS CPC saddle
Quote | Reply
Hi All,

Looking at the 'extended' back-section of this tri. saddle http://www.prologotouch.com/...dotti/tgale-pas-cpc/
I wonder if this design allows seating in a road position , meaning, at the back, working glute/hamstring
In other words, if, while seating at the very back end, do you think that the wider part of the saddle is going to touch/rub the hamstrings..?

Thanks!

The saddle has a rear section and "swoop" toward the nose that is very similar to other Prologo saddles. It just has the nose cut off and a more pronounced center channel. Hamstring clearance should be the same as their "road" saddles (actually it's a little better...based on comparing them in Photoshop....using the Prologo Zero-2 as a comparison).

Thank you Titanflexr, and sorry for not noticing your reply earlier :)

So in your opinion this design does allow the back bent position - is that the comparison you made ?

Thanks!

I'm comparing the "swoop" from the wide part of the saddle down to the nose. The steeper the and the narrower the nose the more hamstring and thigh clearance you'll have.

If you look at the Adamo Breakaway (below), the swoop is much more gradual and the nose is much wider. This saddle isn't really meant for a "sit back on your sitbones" kind of position, and creates a lot of clearance issues if you slide back and try to use it that way.
In contrast, the Tgale does allow you to slide back and sit on your sitbones, much like a conventional road saddle. The main issue you may have is that you may position it forward for riding on the aerobars so that when you slide back you will probably still be riding steeper than a traditional road saddle (no real way around that), even though you are rotated back on your stibones.
