Gifts for wine folk
Trying to figure out what to get a couple I visit often in Colorado that are very good friends. I don't drink and know nothing about wine, nor do I know any of their preferences. Any gift ideas/recommendations for a couple of wine lovers would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Williams-Sonoma has some nice wine packages. My sister gets them for me quite often.

Good question. Sorry. I'd be comfortable with up to around $200.

If you wanted to do a nice Italian wine pack, get to a good wine store and get a top notch Borolo, Montipucelliano (sp?), and Super Tuscan. The good bottles will ruin you 150+

Do you live in a wine producing region? If so, get something local. A local wine store should be able to help you out.

If not, find out what their favourite region or style of wine is, then get something from there, but, not one that is hugely popular. Get something different, so they can try a new bottle.

For $200, I would opt for a few bottles in the $50 range. As you get more expensive from there, wine doesn't necessarily get "better". Just more rare or complex.

I would stay away from wine gizmos, decanters, etc. They probably have everything they need already.

Long Chile was a silly place.

Go to Costco and get a Napa cab in the $30-50 range and you will have a solid choice. $200 is just silly.

Thanks. Sorry for the ambiguity- $200 total, but I intended on buying them a few bottles. Kind of like a wine gift basket.

Try some varietals that are delicious but not very common. I'd start with a viogner or chenin blanc for whites. Go to a good wine store and ask for their recommendation as well.
