In case you still have any doubts:

Rt 42 is a road that goes from Shandaken to Lexington in New York state. My house is near the southern end of rt 42 and it's part of my main loop. I've been riding it for over 20 years on many different bicycles in many different configurations. The way I went today it's a 6.5 mile uphill followed by a 1.3 mile plunge ending in a big ''S'' curve. Depending on the wind and the bike, I usually max out between 47 and 49 mph. Only twice have I hit over 50 mph when I had a strong tailwind. Today was dead calm, I was on the IA with training wheels and tires, road bike helmet and regular bike clothes. With no tail wind I hit 51.1 before I sat up for the curves.
