Upgrading the friction shifting on my wife's commuter bike to something with STIs. Nothing fancy - this is an around town/commuter bike - just needs to be functional and reliable. Must have 170mm BSA crank, otherwise open to options, and would be wiling to source that separately if necessary. Ideally looking for a 600, 5500, 6500, Apex, etc. group that is collecting dust somewhere. Looking to stay under $275 for the whole shebang.

you need brakes also? i have a mix and mathch group of ultegra and 105 stuff. not sure what the bb set up is but its 172.5.

I have a 105 5700 group, shifters, derailleurs, chain, cassette, but crank is 175
