As usual, the reporting is absolutely terrible.
From what I can tell, France has what can only be called Muslim ghettos where the police normally never dare go. Now there are riots spreading.
Someone who knows something please explain what is going on. Either the Press has no clue, or it is not politically correct to explain the dynamics.

That seems to be an accurate assessment. France as a large, non-integrated Muslim population. It's been trouble brewing for a long time.

I think the PC factor is playing a large role. It appears that the guy in charge of security (don't remember his name or title, sorry) has come into a good bit of criticism for taking a hard line. He's made a lot of non-conciliatory statements, and called for a zero-tolerance policy, which some are saying was code for allowing police beatings of Muslims and other abuses.

The unemployment rate in France for males aged 18-24 is approx 23%.......that age group also happens to be the most demographically disposed to commit crime......chuck in a general feeling of malaise and the religion/integration issues and hey presto the desire to burn one's own/neighbours car/house/anything combustible comes to the fore......I 'm sure it will be deemed to be the fault of all those naughty anglo-saxon capitalists....

I assume that's for the general population? What's the unemployment rate for Muslim males of the same age?

Can't blame the French, as I'm sure the news about the rioting is quite extensive in France.
If you want international news, you have to watch the BBC. They provide much better reporting than any US based news channel including CNN (forget about Fox unless you only want to hear negative statements about anything that remotely resembles freedom in America).
With that 23% they still cant winn the TDF ?
