ShimaNO(9speed)

Will 9 speed stuff last longer now that 10 speed is out compared to what happened to 8 speed when 9 speed came out? 8 speed to 9 speed seemed like a fast transition as I think back. It was easy as I only had 1 bike back then . . .

I have no intention of "upgrading" to the latest. The good thing is soon there will be a flood of ShimaNO 9 sp stuff on ebay selling for a psalm. I'll start stocking up on spares.

I hope I can score some cheap 9sp stuff and stock up also. However, I notice that 8 speed stuff is still relatively exspensive on ebay.

I'd guess that may because it's starting to fall into the "rare" catagory and now has a definite market with the retrogrouch crowd. When the 9 sp first came out people were almost giving the 8 sp stuff away. Sort of the way today's junker automobiles will be considered as "classics" in 20-30 yrs from now.

According to my LBS guy, Shimano is still producing 9spd DA for this year, and therefore, we should see lots of parts available for the future.
