....for adding the little indicator next to name to let us know if we have PM messages.

Now could you do something about threaded viewing :-)

I'm slowly wearing him down I can tell.

I complained about no notice of PM's and that happened....I think there's still a chance.

I'm still trying to figure out why it's not sized right for my phone it's too wide in portrait mode.

Take a short break from ST and read my blog:

Always the pessimist...I'm thinking Slowman is having conversations right now about how it might be a good idea to bring it back.

I, for one, am really happy that there is no option for threaded viewing.

Because it's been optimized for the mobile platform.

I recently switched to threaded viewing for my work email. First time using it. My life has been changed forever.

Huh?

Sorry. I don't usually do pink font, so sometimes it's easy to miss my sarcasm.

One of the things Dan said when the initial changes came around was that they were trying to make ST better for mobile devices.

Obviously that was a smashing success (sarcasm again).

I recently switched to threaded viewing for my work email. First time using it. My life has been changed forever.

Imagine viewing your favorite 500 replied to thread with the same clarity, ease of navigation and ability to skip over those responses you don't even want to see or know add nothing to the conversation you want to read.

It is a piece of joy I may never experience again in this fine establishments...moment of silence.

I love freedom. I just don't want it because it's something that you want. So there.

Well give us threaded view or at least get rid of the quote function.

Just scan down this, the fourth page of this thread in the main forum. The same blocks of text coming up again and a again.

And it is bad here too in the lavender room.

Is it me or is there more of the massive block quoting going on?? At least cut out the quotes that aren't relevant anymore.

I hate two things. Multiple quotes that make a response nearly impossible to read and no quote...which makes it impossible to know who the hell the person is responding to in flat mode.

The quotes aren't a "function." It's just HTML. Removing the button for quotes won't remove quoting. It's an HTML forum. Take any words from a previous post, type "quote" in square brackets at the front and "/quote" in square brackets at the end, and you'll get a quoted section.

Ok Spock. But if you removed the button, how many would know how to use the html function? Besides I was whining and thus there is a strong possibility that I was not being serious about my request.

Don't you know that the status of Dan's forum changes is a terribly serious business, and there's no room for non serious whining?

It's not hard, you just look at who they are responding to. It's right there in the subject line.

Here is exhibit 1 for threaded viewing: page 17 of the Barry/Duffy racist thread where JSA and slowguy do "no I'm not, you are" for the complete page. (On the other hand, that is the stupidest thread ever so no excuse for even viewing it.)
