So I recall a post, "how do I get out of jury duty post a couple of months ago," and was struck by some of the responses that it is an obligation or if you were innocent and on trial, would you want a jury of your peers or the elderly with nothing better to do on the jury. Therefore, when I received my notification, I never had any attention on trying to get out of it. I even saw the other post about someone complaining how unfair it is for their employer to make them keep up with their work despite jury duty and am on or a head of schedule on all my projects.
My problem is that I've developed a severe reaction to poison ivy say 20% of my body this week and its way too late to ask for a medical or otherwise solution. I plan to show up calamine lotion in hand, explain my situation (which is obvious if I wear short sleeves) and I'm willing to serve but may ask for breaks to treat the itching if it gets severe. I hope to see my physician today which I initially put off thinking it wouldn't spread and get better versus worse over the past several days.
