8 months after an acute tear of my plantar fascia close to the calcaneus I am still not able to run properly. Plantar pain.
Xray negative. No heal spurs. MRI positive for tearing. Now 8 months later I've just got a shitty lump of scar tissue and constant inflammation and pain if I do anything more than a lap on the track. I can swim my ass off and bike with no pain at all. (the silver lining is my swim getting much better...)
I've got quite a laundry list of what I've put into healing, recovery, functional weakness strength training, stretching, massage therapy, PT 3x week for 16 weeks, graston tool torture, all sorts of foam rolling and ice devices to try and loosen up my kinetic chain to free up my plantar stress.
My last hope is a 6 week program that includes both Acupuncture with electric stim in the needles and extracorporeal shock-wave therapy to try and re-start the healing process.
All the traditional methods deployed have not worked.
I really like my Ortho and my PT shop but at this stage I need to up the game and find a top notch foot DR run specialist for a 2nd opinion.
I'm in Northern NJ so ideally in that geography which includes NYC.
Thanks
