pyf and everybody else. Technically the final word on whether a rim or wheel can/should be converted to tubeless is up to the manufacturer of that rim/wheel. We are only showing Zipp wheels in our marketing materials for the threaded valve extenders and SpeedShield products to show that they can be used with any type of valve setup. Zipp has asked that we not use their stuff in any materials regarding tubeless as they are still in testing and have not approved their wheels/rims for tubeless use.
We are essentially at the same place Mtn was 10 years ago with this where lack of solid standards and uncertainty in the market direction has created a bit of a free-for-all. Similar to Mtn, what works and what are approved are likely to be two different things for the next few years while this is all sorted.
What I can say is that whatever rim you would like to seal airtight, our tape does it better than the other tapes, and our valve with speed shield also works better and is after on carbon rims. What rims you use it on are up to you.
