Don't ride your bike in a thunderstorm :)

Pretty cool stuff - and new.

Well my theory is that the closer you are to the road, air volume/boundary intact, the faster the tire. So taken to the impossible infinite end, there is no tire, just air.

This material drives in that direction being so thin, flexible and strong.

I was really interested in them as they seemed revolutionary. I was even ready to buy a couple sets. But then, I read an in-depth review of them and it turns out they're not as big deal as they seem to be.

The site said that they are a much better improvement over older Vittorio tires. But in terms of puncture resistance, it's the same as Conti GP 4000S II and not as good as Schwalbe One V Guard. In rolling resistance, the Conti GP 4000s II outperforms the Vittorio Corsa G+

Below is the link to the site.

Would like to see some info (err... data) on the Speed versions.

I think the gains will be incremental with a graphene layer. I don't think it's a "compound" as stated in the article, but I could be wrong.

Vittoria tires are exc riding, I've never been on a set I didn't like. So I trust the brand.

While it's nice to have, print or tests don't matter that much. You have experience them - put a set on and see how they do wet /dry/roll/corner etc .

There is a separate thread with some additional testing data showing that some of the top end models are the fastest testing tire out there. Maybe 2 watts better than the Specialized tires. Vittoria seems to have come up with multiple graphene models that cover their entire tire line, so some of the results are really confusing.

I needed some road race tires for the season, so I just ordered the most expensive open tubular model and I am hoping they are fast. No tire I have tried feels as good as the Vittoria open tubulars, so I hope these are at least as good in terms of feel and Crr.

I am currently running the Corsa Graphene 25c tires on my road bike as training tires with latex tubes. Overall, they are a fantastic training/racing tire. Supple, good grip, and so far they seem to wear well. I have a pair of the 23c Corsa Speeds on order and am eager to use them as crit/road race tires.

Our team is supported by Vittoria, so we get them pretty cheap. If I were buying at retail prices, I think that the Rubino Pro Speed is a great all around training tire.

I have a off the topic question for you. I have been using Vittoria Rubino Pro 23c for a few years and they have been great.

Wanted to try 25c instead, except for the lower air pressure, do you just put on the wider tires?

As long as your frame supports the bigger tire, yes.

How do you find the puncture protection for the Corsa G+? I'm looking for some new tubs for 70.3 triathlon and want a mix of speed and puncture protection. right now I like the Force 24mm from Conti (a little nervous whether it will fit a 2015 Cervelo P2) or Corsa G+ 23mm (since I know it would be and might be faster with latex tube)

I have had no issues with punctures with the g+. I used a pair for over 2k and maybe had one or two flats.

I just bought a pair of tubulars for my 2010 P3, so the rims I'm riding are 21 mm. The tires are 22 mm. The tires are Specialized All Around Mountain. Same as the All Around just narrower--but if you have the newer wider rims go with the All Around. The main difference aside from width would be a narrow center strip of smooth down the center on the All Around Mountain & it has textured sides. The All Around wider version has what looks to be texture on the entire surface.

Thanks to Tom A. by way of Thomas Gerlach for the heads up on this tire, it looks good so I went with it after comparing everyting I was interested in. My second choice would be more Vittoria tires, mucho success with those & reliable. But decided to see if the grass was greener on the other side of the fence & try something new.
