Ah ok - well stay tuned...we are actually coming out with an adapter set which has a Polar-compatible insert and you will simply be able to swap out the Garmin insert for the Polar one :) Roughly early August for availability.

Anyone ever run the Kompact system upside down? I love the ease of the Kompact but find my face right in the bottle when riding.

I did something like that on my P5.

Bottle and Garmin were both up too high overall for my liking, so I removed the cage from the baseplate, flipped it over, reinstalled the cage, and mounted it from the underside of my extensions.
Now the bottle is nestled quite low & snugly in there, and the baseplate is probably acting like a bit of a fairing, since my extensions are angled upwards a decent amount.

Only "downside" is that XLAB on the Velcro straps now reads upside down.

float , hammer , and jog

Was racing in Philly this weekend and some of the roads were a bit bumpy. My kompact bottle was ejected and I could do nothing but watch it skid across the road in front of me and into the woods. I really liked this set up until I lost the bottle. Is there any chance of getting a sturdier cage and new bottle somehow?

I do -- kept the base plate upright, screwed in a gorilla xt cage under it, and drilled holes for a k-edge Garmin mount on top. LMK if you want to see pix.

I'd like to see pix please... been racing with my face stuffed in the Garmin on descents.
