This project includes six days of cycling all the way from the South West to North East ("Cayes - Cap"). It also features opportunities for volunteering, cultural excursions, and time spent at the beach. The Tour will provide a new lens through which to explore the cultural richness and natural beauty of Haiti - The Pearl of the Antilles. And on the anniversary of the 2010 Earthquake there will be a large scale Tree Planting Festival as part of the Tour!
The Tour de Quisqueya is being organized with the vision of the Leogane Cycling Club (LCC) and the support of international not-for-profit partners. There exists no commercial interest. The Tour is brought to you for the love of the sport and the country.
All routes have been scouted and all accommodation is to international standards. The Tour aims to promote and elevate the sport of cycling in Haiti, to stimulate the local economy, to boost tourism, and to equip local cyclists with a means to train and compete. 12 new and used bicycles have been shipped to the LCC so they may train and select 10 local participants. For this to become a reality, they need YOU. They need your registration or support. For every two international cyclists we can fully sponsor one local athlete.
