Traveling for Triathlon
Hello! I am new here and somewhat new to triathlons as well! I am looking for a little help:
I am applying for a fellowship that funds one year of independent travel to pursue a personal passion. My proposal is to explore how being a female influences a person's path to success in endurance sports. I want to explore the challenges, obstacles, benefits, and general experiences that are unique to female endurance athletes (especially triathletes) in different countries around the world! I am trying to pick specific countries I want to go to and I was wondering if any of you had any suggestions!! I am tossing around Australia, South Africa, and somewhere in Europe and S. America, thoughts? Thanks!

I raced Ironmans in both Brasil and New Zealand. Both were amazing trips. I'd lean towards NZ in your case. The people are fantastic and there is always endurance sports going on .

If you're coming as far as NZ, then I'd definitely stop by here in Australia.

We've also had a pretty good run at amazingly successful womens in triathlon over the years, so there's either something in the water (other than Irukundji and great whites) or there's something going on that might be relevant to your question.

Sounds great, New Zealand and Australia would be pretty awesome. It seems like there is quite a large group of triathletes in both of these places. Thanks for your response!
