Help Wanted: Web Developer for Sportstats

Sportstats is a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company poised for ongoing growth and is currently seeking a motivated Web Developer who is interested in making an impact on the world of electronic race timing. The selected candidate will be part of a small team with the goal to improve current technologies and the building of new features. The position is a one year full-time contract (40 hour work week).

Sportstats is a very unique company with very unique applications in the timing and results services. Key responsibilities:

· Work on athlete live tracking software (or application)
· Perform maintenance on current website
· Build a membership portal
· Integrate social media into results
· Design and produce result APIs
· Configure and optimize application servers for high availability
· Manipulate and convert results into new database structure
· Add new enhancements to race administration portal

Skills and Qualification:

· Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent experience
· Understanding of front end web technologies : CSS, JavaScript, HTML, XML, Facelets
· Understanding of back end web technologies : Java, Servlets, MySQL
· Experience with J2EE application servers (Glassfish, JBoss, or Tomcat)
· Proficient with core Java concepts
· Used and IDE and version control (preferably Eclipse and SVN)
· Understanding of various communication protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, FTP)
· Skilled in software development life cycle
· Effective time management and organization skills
· Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced office environment and work independently
· Willingness and capability to learn new technologies
