Overview:
Carmichael Training Systemsis hiring for an entry level endurance sports coach to work part time at the BrevardNC regional center. Expert Coaches areentry- level coaches for CTS and coach a variety of endurance athletes from theweekend warrior to the elite utilizing phone, internet, downloadable trainingdevices and e-mail communication. Theright candidate will possess strong organization and communication skills. Our coaches are arranged in various coachingPODs where more senior coaches are teamed up with junior coaches to facilitatefree knowledge flow and mentorship opportunities.
Established in 2006, CTS- Brevardis the oldest regional location for Carmichael Training Systems. Located in oneof the most renown cycling regions in North America, Brevard is consistently recognizedby professional cycling groups and enthusiasts as a must ride location. Out ofthis regional facility, CTS coaches will be required to perform camps and lab/bikefitting services as well as in-person and remote based endurance coaching.
Responsibilities:
1. Monitoring and developingtraining programs according to the CTS training methodology
2. Providing written andverbal feedback to athletes regarding all aspects of training
3. Conducting hands on group andprivate camps with athletes
4. Performing physiologicaltesting on athletes, including lactate threshold testing and VO2 max testing
5. Attending events/races as arepresentative of the company
6. Giving informativelectures and presentations to the local community
Requirements:
1. B.S. degree in ExerciseScience or equivalent field of study
2. Extensive first-handexperience as an athlete (preferably in cycling or triathlon)
3. Possess, or be in theprocess of obtaining, a National Governing body (NGB) coaching license: USACycling, USA Triathlon, USA Swimming, USA Track and Field, etc
4. Previous coachingexperience is preferred but not required
5. Ability to maintain anathlete load of at least 15 athletes
6. Ability to work out of theBrevard, NC location
Compensation Package:
This is a contract or part-time position. Compensation isvariable based on athlete load.

The CTS Coaching College will be held in Brevard NC October9-11th. If you make it to this step, congratulations! The coachingcollege is a 3 day intensive seminar designed to test your coaching knowledge,skills and communication ability. Only the best out of the Coaching Collegewill eventually be chosen to be CTS coaches.
Travel and related expenses for the coaching college arethe responsibility of each applicant.
