Not sure if this is just an Australian thing, but I did the 4km Mother's Day Classic with my 10 year old girl.
http://mothersdayclassic.com.au/ I'm so pleased that she had asked me to do it as she's not a super athletic kid, so it was great to get out there in an event environment and see her learning the tricks of participating. Things she learnt include:
- A mango smoothie 10 min before it starts leads to a killer stitch.
- Blokes can wear pink tutus too.
- Drinks stations are free.
- Leaving some gas for the finish line feels great.
- Having your own medal rocks.
Bit of a change of pace from Ironman but we had some fun!
