Gift for wife - having baby this Friday
I'd like to get something for my wife - she is being induced this Friday, it will be our second child.
I'm torn between two things I know she wants.
1. an iPad2 (fun and useful)
2. starting a Pandora bracelet (senitmental)

Any thoughts?

Diamonds always work!!

Or figure out what the baby's birthstone is going to be, and get something - necklace or earrings w/ those stones.

Keep up the good work. Your wife is lucky.

I'd love the sentimental gift - go for the bracelet. Yes a massage would be nice, but something that will last and you can start it with charms for both kids and maybe you wedding day to get it started. You could also spring a massage on her when the baby is 4-6 weeks old too.

X2 on the bracelet. Good idea on your part and room for adding memories to come.

Decided on the bracelet.
I'm going to get a charm from me, a charm from Addison (pup), a charm from Merlin (pup), a charm from Keegan (first born son) and a charm from Killian (baby coming).
Then maybe a few cute charms that represent her or our family.

Now, the bracelet.

1. Just give her charms, have her pick out the bracelet herself.
2. Pick out a bracelet to put stuff on, but tell her she can return it for one she might prefer more.

I would buy the charms and have her return if she doesn't like. I know it means more coming from you. Chances are she'll love them because you took the time to carefully pick out each one of them.

Good luck on Friday.

I am buying the charms for sure.
The question is the bracelet which holds the charms.

I would go ahead and buy the bracelet - with the help of one of the jewelry store employees (female).
It's one less step for her to have to do, a step that could easily be put off or never completed since you'll have a new little one to care for.

Thanks for all your help. Here is what she got.

I started her with a handful of charms from the family. She can put in more color/decorative ones later, and we can always add memories in the future.

Dolphin - bead from me with two-fold meaning, we swam with dolphins on our honeymoon and swimming is my favorite hobby.
Clover - we are an Irish family through and through
Moons and Stars - bead from our dog, Merlin. Reminded me of Merlin the wizards had with moons and stars.
Flower - our second dog, Addison is a very pink, flowery and frilly girl.
Dog House - from both dogs.
K - our two kids are names Keegan and Killian
Hearts - love from family
Elephant - Keegan's favorite animal

Sweet, how did you get your wife to agree to name both your children after beer?

I knew about Killians, but not Keegan - that's pretty funny.
Especially since my lone sip of alcoholo was first communion!
