Barb Lindquest told me (no big pal, just happen to talk to her at a swim/tri camp at Auburn) pretty much the same thing Dan said in his latest ramblings. That is why she made the decision to spend so much time in Australia. Obviously has incredible talent, but it sure appears to have paid off. Whatever the reason, the women sure appear to be having a lot of success. I have watched a couple of pro races and it is one of the few sports in which I prefer to watch the women.
