SEEKING: A Triathlon Coach for Team Challenge Crohn's and Colitis, a sprint triathlon training program to benefit the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America.

This is a paid part time coaching position in CA Bay Area/South Bay/Peninsula

ABOUT CCFA:

The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA), is a private, non-profit national organization dedicated to finding the cure for CrohnˇŻs Disease and ulcerative colitis. CCFA sponsors basic and clinical research of the highest quality, offers a wide range of educational programs for patients and health care professionals, and provides supportive services to patients and family members.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for training, supporting, and motivating Peninsula/South Bay team members to complete the TriRock San Diego Sprint Triathlon Sept. 11, 2011.

REPORTS TO:
Senior Team Challenge Manager
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Develop weekly training schedules for participants of all levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced triathletes
Coordinate and lead all Saturday morning group bike rides as well as one swim workout during the week (location to be determined
Recruit and manage speakers for training clinics to be held in conjunction with team training or at team meetings, on such topics as; nutrition, injury prevention, transitions etc
Write brief weekly emails to TEAM CHALLENGE participants.
Be available during the week, by phone or CCFA email, to answer training related questions and return correspondence within 24 hours.
CPR/First Aid certified through a recognized course such as through the American Red Cross, prior to commencement of coaching duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Coaching and triathlon experience
  • Ability to motivate and create team atmosphere
  • Public speaking required
  • Required to work Saturday mornings and one evening during the week to attend Peninsula/South Bay based group training sessions.

    • Weekend of September 11, 2011
