SF Bay Area folks: which triathlon club?
I am considering joining either the Golden Gate Triathlon Club or the SF Tri Club. SFTC petition brouhaha aside, can anyone tell me what the actual difference is between the two clubs?

I belong to GGTC and not SFTC. ;-)

Seriously, go to some workouts for each and a meeting (you just missed ours; next one is 2/3/03). There are a number of people who belong to both.

I also belong to Transition Sports TC in the East Bay and have been known to assist at the Embarcadero YMCA Women's Tri Club.

That would be the rumor. Maybe someday he'll be back. Or perhaps the "whichever-stan" Army will keep him.

I know someone out there emailed me for info about starting up a club. This was sometime last summer. There is a small group starting up out of the Livermore Tennis Club (I think that's what it's called). They have a great swim coach...and 6 time Ironman, ex-swim record holder at IMC. Not sure how much they are up and running yet though.

Thanks for your reply. I am in San Ramon. Two towns away from Livermore. Do you remember who it was?

The person inquiring about starting up a club was someone named Eric Belusa out of Walnut Creek. Stuart Smith is the swim coach at LTC and the one starting up the LTC tri club. Call the LTC and ask them what's the story. Stu is great.

Yes DaveVerde is my older, less handsome bro. While the army of Russian babes he has attracted as an American celebrity would like to keep him - or so he says - he will be making his way back beginning in mid March. He may see some friends in Ireland then get stateside and may visit NC so he can rescue his bike from my garage and i can wup him in an early season race, and then head back out to SFO. Make sure to check out his new hat when you see him - very stylin.
